last day of july!

Long time no blog! Sorrrry.

The Olympics started on Friday (you probably all know by now) and my sister and I were eating pizza and screaming at each other to start the livestream because we wanted to see the Arctic Monkeys live at the opening ceremony. But then it was on TV a few hours later (but cut out the first song?!) so we shouldn't have really bothered. The night before that, my friend slept over and we were crazy as usual. I drove her home myself that morning, which reminded me that I need to go to the DMV. I went to Target with my mom and sister and hung out on Sunday, so my weekend was very relaxing. Alex James' book, "Bit of Blur" came in the mail last weekend, too, so I've been reading it non-stop then. It is so good.

So last night my sisters and I were watching the Olympics and then ordered a pizza at 1 AM, and it was delivered at noon today because they don't open until 11 AM. Hahahahaha. Then we went to the park and went to our friend Ryan's house and hung out and watched TV. Biked a lot today. Hopefully burned off that whole pizza + breadsticks + cinnamon sticks. My stomach still hurts from it, if that's even possible...

Good night! (It's 9 PM. whatever.)

07.25.12

^I feel like if my dreams should have a soundtrack, it should be this album. And also I want to marry Alex Turner because I think he's a golden god.

I ombre'd (french for gradient) my hair for the 3rd time in the past year last night, and it is only noticeable in the sunlight. Oh well.

Today (well now yesterday, it is 12:50 AM) was really nice, because my sisters and I made a pact (is that the right word?) to not use the internet or television for a whole day. I woke up at 7 AM, got some breakfast, meditated, did some yoga, read Caitlin Moran's "How To Be a Woman" (very funny and interesting book, by the way), and slept on the couch until 11 AM.

My brother drove my sisters and I to Panera Bread where we all had lunch and hung out. It was lunch hour, so it was very crowded with people dressed in office appropriate clothing. A difference from my high waisted shorts, cardigan and top siders. Well then. When we got home we bonded and listened to someold CD's, and then read books on the backyard deck until my dad came home. It was then my dad's genius idea to have none other than Taco Bell for dinner, because my mom was at book club therefore it was that or no dinner at all. I was still stuffed from my large lunch at Panera, but I managed to shove some of the burrito bowl down my throat before heading to my friend Alaina's house. I tried some  green tea ice cream at her house, it was from a local Asian market. It was wonderful. I recommend it. I had a nice time. (I sound really boring, again; sorry)

Now that it is officially the next day, we are now using TV again and watching a "Starshaped", which is a tour documentary on Blur. I feel like I'm going to explode from food because my sister Hannah made a fucking cookie cake and I felt like I had to eat some of that, too.

By the way, in this post I am writing like a boring old woman, because I'm so tired and I feel like I'm going to die of a heat stroke before I wake up.

(edit/update:) I ended up waking up in the middle of night from severe stomach pains, nausea, and a cold sweat. I pretty much passed out on the floor of the bathroom when trying to throw up because I thought I was going to. I feel perfectly fine now. Weird.

Good night.

though you are hot, forget me not

It's 10:30 on a nice after storm morning and I'm the only one awake in my house....
The storm last night was pretty bad by the sound of it, but it's really pretty outside now. I love it.

I look like a homeless person right now; if a homeless person owned clean clothes and combed their hair. But I am wearing a sweatshirt and it's like 80 degrees. I feel FANTASTIC

I have this weird gagging reflex in my throat right now and I feel like I'm going to throw up so I haven't eaten breakfast because of that...too much information? Fun fact: I haven't vomited since 4th grade.  *knock on wood*

This has been an absolutely pleasant post, hope everyone has a nice week....

and your eyes are just holes in your face

So I went with my sisters to my friend's house yesterday (Friday the 20th)  and we sat around and watched the Sex & the City movie. It was about the millionth time I've seen it, but it's so good. I really don't know.
We then came home to birthday cards and a huge package from my aunt and uncle who live in London. They sent us Blur, Pulp (that's why I posted the song above!), The Jam, Small Faces CDs, chocolate, books, and cosmetics from England! It was wonderful! Very nice.
Then we ordered pizza and just hung around for the rest of the night. My sisters and I made the amazing discovery that on the Xbox you can get Vevo on it so we were watching music videos for the rest of the night!
So today I'm going to my cousin's graduation party, and we're leaving in a half an hour so I should probably get ready now..
My aunt was over the other weekend and was trying to get my sisters and I excited for the party by saying, "there's going to be cute college boys there!". WOW because I should really get excited for a bunch of "cute college boys" that will be wearing oversized button up shirts, long socks, and sperrys! Such a cool outfit combo! Doesn't make me think his mom is still dressing him! Yes!

Have a nice weekend. :-)

everyone who pretended to like me is gone

This whole album is fantastic. You should check them out.

Today was uneventful, just like the rest of the week. This whole week I've done really nothing. Hopefully next week will be as fun as last week and a few weeks before, where I was doing something fun everyday. Oh well.

I woke up at like noon for the third consecutive day?! My alarm clock hasn't been going off. I can't stand waking up late, because it puts me in a bad mood because I wasted the day. My mom bought me the book "The Encyclopedia of New Wave" last night on her way home from a dinner with her work friends. I was very happy, and it's been sitting in the same place that I left it last night because I really can't be bothered to touch it.

So anyways, my brother left at like 8 morning to go to Six Flags amusement park with his friends and he's still there (I don't know how you can stand being at an amusement park for almost 12 hours). He texted my mom and told her that he has to sit out on some of the rides because he's too tall. Yes, that is a rule. He's 6'3 or something. I also found out that my cousin and his wife's baby was born this morning! The baby's name is Winslow, and I'm so happy for them because they would make such nice parents. Very cool.

So I had a doctor's appointment today, which tested my memory/attention span and all that (I'm getting tested to see if I have ADD blahblahblah). Then after my mom picked me up, we went to the elementary school parking lot to try and drive around (I have yet to get my permit. Don't know when I'll ever go to the DMV). The shift gears wouldn't work. After numerous tries, we gave up and went home. Then I told my dad about it and he tossed me the keys and I drove around the neighborhood! I DROVE. I had a mini heart attack when a huge UPS truck started to make it's way down the street, but I did a good job for someone who's driven twice, and was their first time on the road and not in a parking lot.

I'm going to watch Rushmore now and die over Jason Schwartzman now. Bye.

07.18.2012

I woke up at noon. Again.

My friend Gaby is over now helping my sister decorate some plain white sneakers she gave her for our birthday, and I just finished watching the François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard documentary called "Two in the Wave". It was ok, but interesting. In the last 30 minutes I almost forgot it was about them and was about Jean Pierre Leaud.

I also have an orthodontist appointment in a half an hour. I got my braces out in December 2010 and got my retainer shortly after that and it fit for about a couple weeks until it started not fitting. I would wear it regularly, but the problem is that my tongue is too long for my mouth (gross, I know), so in the time I wasn't wearing it, my tongue would push my teeth forward.
So now today I'm finally getting a fitting for a new one that fits my tongue probs. And my sister's being a huge bitch about it, per usual. But what's new. And if you're reading this, I really hope you work on that. I am embarrassed for you.

I ordered Alex James (musician, cheesemaker, model, phone developer, basically any occupation you can think of) 's book "A Bit of Blur" off amazon.com yesterday. I also requested a book called "The Encyclopedia of New Wave" from the library along from that. I'm not much of a reader at all but I'm really excited to get these books.

Have a nice day.

all-nighter

^ I uploaded this song to youtube and keep getting e-mails that it might be copyrighted and that they're looking into it. So check it out while it's here? Jacques Dutronc is so good. I feel like this song could be easily remixed into a viral internet hit. I think it's the beat.

I'm trying to pull an all-nighter tonight, and then bike with my sister Hannah at 7 AM. It is currently 3:25 AM. I don't feel tired at all, actually. Might be the caffeinated tea or the fact that I slept 12 hours the night before? I really don't think this will be successful. It's really hot. Supposed to reach a high of 95 degrees today! I will possibly die from this heat.
I'll keep you updated.

tonight the sky is empty, but that is nothing new

(I like this song how it is, but Graham Coxon did a cover of it and although he did really nothing to make it different I just love Graham so much I prefer his version)

I woke up at noon. Why. Is this some sick joke or something?
Yesterday was my dad's birthday, and I went shopping in the pouring rain with my brother and sister to get out of the house for a few hours. And I bought a sweater, because, you know, they sell the best sweaters for like 60% off in the summer, duh. I also bought other stuff but that's not important.
This is said sweater:

Today (well I shouldn't even care since I already wasted it by waking up at noon) has been very sluggish. I'm drinking a coke zero right now that is leftover from my birthday party while the sounds of my sister squealing over a video game is drowned out in the background by the sound of fizz and keyboard clunks.

Good day, internet.

Saturday, July 14, 2012

this is an introduction.

I turned 16 years old yesterday.

For some reason I felt like it was necessary to make a personal blog, because turning sixteen is a "milestone" which basically it means I can get my driving permit and drink alcohol in some countries! Whoohoo!

This song is great by the way. Wonderful, actually. My sister got this record as a gift yesterday (I'm a triplet, so we ALL turned 16 yesterday. fab.). Half of The Smiths (Johnny Marr (!!!!) and Mike Joyce) replied to me on twitter this past week so it's been wonderful.

Thanks for reading and appreciatin'.
